Beitler Fund Sends Dental Hygiene Student to Holland
Assistance provided by the Lorraine Beitler Student Resource Endowment Fund afforded City Tech student Diana Aguinaga, left, a first-hand look at dental hygiene education and the dental profession in Holland earlier this spring. Accompanied by Department of Dental Hygiene Chair Leonard Friedman, Aguinaga participated in an “International Week” conference and took classes and attended lectures at Inholland University in Amsterdam as part of an educational exchange between that school and City Tech.
According to Aguinana, the trip was “educationally, culturally and personally enriching,” and made possible “an experience that was both priceless and inspirational.” As part of the exchange, several students from the Netherlands spent 10 weeks taking classes at City Tech during the 2006 fall semester. One of those students, Laura deJong, is shown here with new friend Diana on a Netherlands outing during the latter’s visit.
