Will ADGA Students Go from Ballroom to Beijing?
Thanks to the efforts of Advertising Design & Graphic Arts (ADGA) Professor John McVicker, City Tech students exhibited for the first time ever in this year’s One Club Student Show in early May. The annual event is sponsored by The One Club for Art & Copy, the world's foremost non-profit organization for the recognition and promotion of excellence in advertising. In 2007, a record 32 colleges and universities from around the world participated, with more than 400 students and other guests attending opening-night festivities in the landmark Prince George Ballroom located in Manhattan’s Madison Square North Historic District.
The event enabled City Tech students to network with top professionals and educators from many of the world’s leading ad agencies and design schools. Our students’ entries created quite a “buzz,” according to Professor McVicker, who was approached by the chair of Beijing University’s Department of Graphic Arts about a possible future student exchange program.
