NCBA Honors AHI’s Dick Koral
The National Cooperative Business Association’s Council of New York Cooperatives & Condominiums honored “building maintenance guru” Dick Koral, director of the City Tech Division of Continuing Education’s Apartment House Institute (AHI), at right in both photos, at its 26th Annual Housing Conference held at Baruch College’s Newman Conference Center on November 12, 2006. The council recognized Koral’s lifelong commitment to energy conservation and enlightened multifamily building maintenance with its Lifetime Membership Award. Council Executive Director Ann Rothman, top left, and energy expert Fred Goldner, bottom left, were among those who offered words of praise for Koral’s remarkable contributions to the industry.
Koral has served as director of AHI since its establishment in 1979 and also currently serves as secretary-treasurer of Superintendents Technical Association, a not-for-profit educational corporation organized in 1998 by AHI. It is the first technical society for multifamily building maintenance personnel in New York City and is modeled after the typical chapter of various engineering societies.
