Pinning Ceremonies for 2005 Healthcare Program Graduates

The Department of Radiologic Technology & Medical Imaging hosted its annual Pinning Ceremony on May 25. This year’s guest speaker was Edward Asante, MBA, RT, a 1987 graduate of the College’s radiologic technology program and administrator of radiology at Beth Israel Medical Center, one of New York City’s premiere healthcare facilities.
The Department of Nursing’s Pinning Ceremony, held May 26, featured guest speaker Barbara Lowe, director of nursing at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn. Lowe is a member of the CSTEP Nursing Grant Advisory Board and an active clinical associate with City Tech’ s nursing department.
The Department of Dental Hygiene’s Pinning Ceremony on June 1 symbolized the graduates’ successful completion of all requirements for becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. The department has been honoring its graduates with a "capping" and, more recently, a “pinning” ceremony since its first graduating class in 1949.
All three pinning events, held on campus in Klitgord Center Auditorium, were followed by receptions for the students, their families and friends, faculty and other guests.
