Dental Hygiene students Olga Florczyk (left) and Nicole Katz were awarded second place honors in the Dental Hygiene Student Table Clinic Demonstration competition at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center this year from November 28- December 3, the meeting is the largest dental exposition and continuing education program in the country. Florczyk and Katz, who are both seniors, won an award and accompanying cash prize of $400 for their presentation, "Chewing Gum: Positive and Negative Effects (on Oral Health)." Twenty teams from dental hygiene departments at New York University, Hostos Community College and the State University at Farmingdale, in addition to City Tech, participated in the competition.
The winning City Tech presentation poster was constructed in collaboration with students from the Department of Advertising Design & Graphic Arts.
