Chewing Gum Presentation Yields Second Place Honors
for Dental Hygiene Students Florczyk and Katz
Dental Hygiene students Olga Florczyk (left) and
Nicole Katz were awarded second place honors in the Dental Hygiene
Student Table Clinic Demonstration competition at the Greater New
York Dental Meeting. Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
this year from November 28- December 3, the meeting is the largest
dental exposition and continuing education program in the country.
Florczyk and Katz, who are both seniors, won an award and accompanying
cash prize of $400 for their presentation, "Chewing Gum: Positive
and Negative Effects (on Oral Health)." Twenty teams from dental
hygiene departments at New York University, Hostos Community College
and the State University at Farmingdale, in addition to City Tech,
participated in the competition.
The winning City Tech presentation poster was constructed in collaboration
with students from the Department of Advertising Design & Graphic
Arts.
