Japanese Guests Tour Dental Laboratory Technology Department
City Tech President Fred Beaufait welcomes Nippon Academy President Hideki Saka.
Drawn by its top-notch reputation, Hideki Saka, DDS, president of The
Nippon Academy of Dental Technology in Saitama, Japan, and other top administrators
and students recently toured City Tech's Department of Dental Laboratory
Technology. A highlight of the tour was a meeting with second-year dental
technology student Megumi ("Meg") Tanii, who conducted a question
and answer session in Japanese. The tour was coordinated by City Tech's
Dental Laboratory Technology Department Chair Nicholas Manos and Professor
Cecil Frith, who escorted the Japanese guests through the day's activities.
By the tour's conclusion, both groups had developed a rapport and appreciation
for each other's professional techniques and educational philosophy. City
