Four City Tech Student Athletes Named to 2002 CUNYAC/Brine Men's Soccer All-Star Team
Four New York City College of Technology student athletes have been named to the CUNYAC/Brine Men's Soccer All-Star Team, after compiling a 7-7 season and reaching the CUNYAC Tournament semi-finals.
Named to the First Team was freshman defender Noel Escoto, a computer information systems major who attended Grover Cleveland High School in Queens. His hard work and quiet efficiency at keeping opponents away from the City Tech net earned him a spot as a First Team All-Star. He also scored two goals.
Named to the Second Team were freshman forward Richard Franco, a civil engineering technology major who attended Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, NY; freshman midfielder Ricardo Williams, a construction management technology major who attended Holmwood Technical High School in Jamaica, West Indies; and freshman defender Maxo Maitre, a computer information systems major who attended August Martin High School in Queens.
Franco was the team's leading scorer with
eight goals, had one assist in just nine games and was dangerous
around the net all season, especially when he scored four goals
versus John Jay in a comeback 4-3 win. Williams and Maitre worked
hard and played efficient, tight defense all season long. Williams
also scored a goal and earned an assist, while Maitre had an assist.
In the end, it was their consistent team play that played a major
role in earning them this latest honor.
