NYS Secretary of State Randy Daniels is 9/11 Guest Speaker at City Tech
New York's Secretary of State Randy Daniels, left, is welcomed to campus on September 11 by City Tech President Fred Beaufait.
New York's Secretary of State Randy Daniels spoke eloquently of the "uncommon courage, bravery and commitment demonstrated by all New Yorkers" at City Tech's September 11 "Day of Reflection" observances. Daniels noted that what distinguished us from how other people in other lands might have responded to a similar tragedy "is how we turned to each other rather than on each other at a time of enormous crisis and uncertainty." The secretary added that "The rest of the world is in awe of America because of that response. We didn't panic. On September 11 we were reminded of who we are and of all that is good about us. We didn't sink into petty recriminations -- there was something bigger we had to do." Daniels spoke at a gathering of students, faculty and staff sponsored by the student Human Services Club.
