Thank You, Council Member Kenneth K. Fisher!

President Fred W. Beaufait and Council Member Kenneth K. Fisher

Outgoing City Council Member Kenneth K. Fisher has been an active advocate for City Tech during his time in office, having garnered well over $1 million in additional funding (more than $600,000 last academic year alone) to enhance the college's programming and operations.

To thank him for his support, President Fred W. Beaufait hosted a luncheon in his honor in the Janet Lefler Dining Room on November 16 that was attended by community leaders, public officials and members of the college community.

In addition to being a staunch supporter of educational access and opportunity for all New Yorkers, Councilman Fisher has successfully brought millions of dollars to Brooklyn for parks, libraries, housing, transportation, after school programs, and services for immigrant youth and children with asthma and other disabilities. And, he was the moving force behind the new Brooklyn High School for the Arts.

Fisher was first elected to the New York City Council in 1991, and has been ranked by the Daily News as one of the Council's most effective members. We wish him well in all his future endeavors.
