City Tech Fall Open House Set for November 8; Part of ‘CUNY Month’ Celebration
City Tech’s Fall 2009 Open House will take place on Sunday, November 8, from 1 to 4 p.m., giving prospective students a chance to find out about the enormous opportunities the College offers.
City Tech is the college of technology of The City University of New York, and the largest such public college in the Northeast. Sixty degree and specialized certificate programs and an outstanding faculty prepare students for careers in rapidly growing 21st century technologies and related fields.
City Tech prepares students for today and tomorrow’s careers in the technologies of architecture, advertising art and communication design, business and marketing, computer-related fields, engineering, entertainment, graphic arts, healthcare, hospitality, human services, the law-related professions, and career and technology teacher education. At City Tech, students receive the best education available at any price and at an affordable tuition.
So come tour the campus, meet faculty, students and staff, and learn all about admissions, financial aid and the College’s full range of student support services. All prospective students, including high school seniors or graduates, transfer students, and returning adults and their families and friends are welcome.

The Open House is one of more than 25 on-campus events marking CUNY Month at City Tech. Other events open to the public include Black Solidarity Day presentations by Dr. Clarence Taylor, Professor of African American Studies and History at Baruch College/CUNY, and Rev. Violet Dease of the historic Abyssinian Baptist Church on “Black Church, Politcs and the African-American Community” (10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Nov. 2); a presentation on “Getting the Most Out of Your Credit Cards in Tough Economic Times” (1-2 p.m., Nov. 5); a two-part workshop on “What You Need to Know About Foreclosures” (6-7:30 p.m., Nov. 12 & 19); and the 7th Annual Faculty/Student Research Poster Session (1-4 p.m., Nov. 19). Admission to all events is free.
