POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES | ||
|
The Department of Computer Systems Technology of New York City College of Technology, City University of New York, is engaged in the development of innovative associate and baccalaureate curricula to educate students in emerging information technologies and their application to business, science, the arts and other human endeavors. The Department of Computer Systems Technology is part of the School of Technology and Design, which provides a unique environment for interdisciplinary research and learning. The Department seeks an innovative technologist having both a solid theoretical background and technical expertise in one or more of the following areas of specialization: • Networking Technologies • Information Security • Web Programming Strong candidates in other areas of interest for the department including software design and programming, database design and administration, information security, and systems analysis and design will also be considered. The candidate’s duties include teaching, student advisement, curriculum development and participation in college-wide activities. The candidate is expected to pursue professional research and to participate in inter-departmental projects. | ||

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS | ||
|
A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Postgraduate experience in an academic or industry setting is essential. Related experiences on application of information technologies to business, science and the arts are assets. University-level teaching experience is advantageous and will be a major expectation of the position. | ||
