The Construction Management and Civil
Engineering Technology Department is entering a new phase of growth and
program development and seeks experienced individuals who will provide
significant leadership in the creation of the department’s new B. Tech
degree. The department has a record of consistent enrollment growth and
facilities expansion over the last three years.
The mission of the Department of Construction
Management & Civil Engineering Technology at New York City College of
Technology is to educate students for careers as technicians in the fields
of construction management and civil engineering. Our focus is on the
fundamental concepts and technical skills required to create a wide range
of career paths in the construction and civil engineering profession. We
balance practical knowledge with theory. The department has maintained a
long tradition of educating non-traditional students of diverse
backgrounds for successful entry into the construction industry. Through
excellence in teaching and community service, the department promotes
opportunities for scholarly, personal, and professional growth. The
department is also committed to maintaining a diverse faculty of
professional engineers and architects.
Facilities include 18,000 square feet of
state-of-the-art laboratories and class rooms. The department was just
awarded a grant to purchase GPS equipment and receives excellent support
from our industrial advisory commission, which helps maintain currency of
technology.

The successful candidate will teach courses in
several areas including but not limited to Surveying, Route Surveying and
AutoCAD. The department seeks individuals with high energy and motivation
to help build and advance the program. Faculty members will be involved in
student recruitment, student activities and job placement. Faculty members
are expected to pursue scholarly activities at a level appropriate to
engineering technology. The candidate will also participate in all
department activities, curriculum development, and serve on college
committees. Teaching assignments will include day, evening and Saturday
courses. |
